The TRACE Lab (Tracking Resistance and pathogens Across Connected Environments) is an interdisciplinary research group that investigates drivers of microbial pathogen transmission through a One Health lens.
Our team (the TRACERS) uses environmental microbiology and spatial and molecular epidemiology to track the spread of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). We also evaluate the impacts of interventions—including water, sanitation, and hygiene—that may curb pathogen transmission.
Our research leverages environmental pathogen surveillance and centers community knowledge to understand key exposure pathways among marginalized populations, like mothers and young children, people experiencing homelessness, and farmworkers.
